Since the opening of ReWA's South
King County Office, the Family Support Program has provided services
to 750 refugees and immigrants, helping individuals with social
services, vocational training and job placement. |

Refugee and immigrant women and their families have unique
needs that require cultural and linguistic competency to ensure families are
able to acquire skills and knowledge to navigate the system in their
adoptive country.
The ReWA Family Support Program provides a holistic approach to assisting
refugee and immigrant families to make the transition to self-sufficiency
and integration into the American society while preserving their own
culture. ReWA's Family Support Program offers services and resources
that assist clients to overcome obstacles by providing the following
services
- Vocational ESL (English for employment)
- Job readiness/work behavior training
- Intensive job search
- Job placement, followed by job retention services
- Social services to help individuals with a wide array of services,
such as access to housing, legal services, immigration, child
care, obtaining divers' licenses, utility assistance, and
information and referral to ReWA programs and other agencies.

Mental health counseling and workshops
- Mental health consultation and training to refugee and
immigrant communities and service providers
Refugees and immigrants utilizing the Family Support Program work
with multilingual Social Service and Employment Specialists who
create a comprehensive plan to help individuals toward self
sufficiency.
