Early Childhood Education Program
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM

Often refugee and immigrant parents feel disconnected and unsupported
by existing child care programs due to language, cultural and religious
barriers. ReWA's Early Childhood Education Program offers a rich and
culturally-sensitive curriculum that fosters learning and enables
each child to explore, gain skills and build competencies.
The child care center located at ReWA's new building offers 1,650
square feet of space with the capacity of service up to 25 children
at any one time. The center is divided into three distinct areas for infants,
toddlers, and preschoolers. The center is licensed for children
from 1 month to 6 years old and offers the following features:

Each year, ReWA's Early Childhood
Education Program serves more than 250 children from 14 countries from
around the globe, including China, Cambodia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the
former Soviet Union, Honduras, Laos, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Somalia,
Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam? |
- Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP)
- Qualified bilingual and bicultural staff
- Strong literacy program
- Integrated curriculum
- Subsidized by DSHS and City of Seattle
- Free hot meals
- Free childcare for parents enrolled in other ReWA services
- Supportive services through bilingual and bicultural family
advocates.
