POSITION TITLE:
Development Associate
DEPARTMENT:
Fund Development
REPORTS TO:
Director of Development
STATUS:
Nonexempt Regular Full Time (37.5 hrs/week)
PURPOSE:

Support full range of fund development and marketing/communications activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain donor database & produce monthly reports on donor activity

  • Manage process for receiving and recognizing donations

  • Maintain grant tracking system

  • Assist in creation and production of marketing materials, including quarterly newsletter

  • Maintain inventory of all marketing and fundraising materials

  • Assist in grant research, writing and reporting

  • Assist in special event planning

  • Lead generation of annual gifts under $600

  • Attend staff meetings and training as required

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task

  • Attention to detail and high degree of organization

  • Fundraising experience

  • Ability to meet deadlines and flexible availability during peak fundraising times (such as during special events)

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel and Access

  • Experience and comfort using desktop publishing applications (Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator)

  • Assertive and comfortable communicating with donors and sharing ideas with management

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment
