PURPOSE:
Provide support,
advocacy, and social service referrals to families with children
enrolled in ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program)
and ReWA Child Care. Work collaboratively with parents and program
staff to monitor and maintain the effectiveness of ReWA’s Early
Childhood Education program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Coordinate with the
program director and lead teachers on the family support
involvement component to ensure maintenance of ECEAP performance
standards.
-
Recruit and enroll
families for ECEAP and other ReWA childcare programs. Address
families strengths and needs and identify their goals.
-
Determine and develop
plans to meet individual family needs
and goals with the respect to families beliefs, culture,
language, and child rearing practices.
-
Coordinate and
implement social, health and education services for
families and children as needed
and to follow-up on referrals.
-
Develop and update an
inventory of available community social services.
-
Maintain system to
provide follow-up activities related to community agency
referrals.
-
Act as an advocate
and resource for ECEAP families and other child care families
requesting community social services.
Acknowledge parents as resources to themselves and others
-
Develop and implement
methods, including working with parents, ECEAP Parent Council
members and staff, to monitor and evaluate ECEAP program
activities.
-
Coordinate family
events and activities.
-
Track and record
children’s health screenings,
dental and well child exams, etc.
-
Maintain program
reports as specified by ECEAP requirements; ensure maintenance,
confidentiality and integrity of all records and information.
-
Prepare monthly
social service reports for ECEAP and submit to the program
director in a timely manner.
-
Attend required
staff meetings and trainings as needed.
-
Other related duties
as assigned by program manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Associate or higher
degree with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits of
adult education, human development, human services, family
support, social work, early childhood education, child
development, psychology or another field directly related to
their job responsibilities.
-
Two years’ experience
in school counseling, teaching or social work
-
Knowledge of
community-based social service organizations and agencies
-
Ability to interact
effectively with parents, children, staff and the public in a
multi-ethnic environment
-
Ability to
effectively motivate and supervise staff
-
Respect for others’
experiences, opinions, language, values, culture, and knowledge
-
Commitment to
teamwork and collaboration
-
WA state driver’s
license and vehicle insurance
