Early Childhood Education Program
Often refugee and immigrant parents feel disconnected and unsupported by existing child care programs due to language, cultural and religious barriers. ReWA’s Early Childhood Education Program offers a rich and culturally-sensitive curriculum that fosters learning and enables each child to explore, gain skills and build competencies.
The Early Childhood Education Program is located at two sites. The child care center at ReWA’s main site is divided into three distinct areas for infants, toddlers and 3-year-olds and serves up to 25 children full-day. The preschool on Beacon Hill serves up to 96 children aged 3.5 to 5. Both sites offer the following features:
- Qualified bilingual and bicultural staff
- Strong literacy program
- Integrated, emergent curriculum
- Accept subsidies from DSHS and City of Seattle and private payment
- Meals are included
- Supportive services through bilingual and bicultural family advocates
In addition, our Preschool utilizes grants from Washington State’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) and the City of Seattle’s Step Ahead program to provide free half-day preschool for qualified families. We offer morning, afternoon and full-day preschool classes in order to meet the needs of our community.
